Everything about this was automatic and easy, from the download to the startup. The only problem was when certain codecs were incompatible with my version of Windows (98). I'm not too fazed by looking for codecs via Google, which in this case was easy, but this led to my using a different player. If I had a more up-to-date version of Windows, or a different platform or operating system, I'm sure it could have been simpler and easier. |

After reading the reviews on this player I downloaded it but it doesn't seem to prompt me for any codecs to be downloaded. It plays only the sound part of teh MP4 file, no video. This didn't work for me. |

after installation, download (automaticaly, when running it) the codec. it works beautifully well. |

Rating: | I love compact applications.
Grabbed the download, grabbed the codec update, works great. A no-frills mp4 player, that's compact and easy on system resources. Don't know what the virus person was talking about, this is clean. |

Initialy it seemed to be like many other programs that are just a waste of time downloading, however if you read the intructions (something I don't tend to do) it does say you may need to download a codec pack so I said "yes", then be careful as a box pops up and I felt the urge to click the box that said terminate. Good thing I didn't. Anyway I still had no joy loading the file from the program, but I did find that the default program for my mp4 files had changed and this lead me to just try double clicking the video file and lo and behold it worked although it seemed to look like a different player, doesn't bother me all I wanted were results and I got that, Cheere |

Well the reviews must have been made by the makers. Because I downloaded MP4 Player to watch movies that I have converted over to mp4 so I can watch them on my PSP. Now the movies play on my psp but mp4 player gives an error that it can't read the mp4 video. What good is a mp4 player that can not read mp4's? Do not download it, it doesn't work. |

This is not a bad software. It is a small, basic video player. Easy to install and use. Neither Avast nor Zone Alarm detected any viruses or spyware.
