LimeWire is an excellent P2P file-sharing client software letting users download and share various types of computer files, including pictures, movies, games, and text documents. LimeWire has nice multiple search tabbed interface. It allows user to search for multiple files at the same time. Some other features include these: Firewall to Firewall Transfers, proxy support, more faster connection to network , preview of files, "Thread" downloads from multiple hosts, integration of chat, support for International searches and International groups, iTunes integration
Searches in LimeWire now immediately display the artists, albums and other information that fully describes files. Users can now browse the network and search for the most recent and actual content additions.
LimeWire is clear so it contains no bundled software of any kind. No spyware. No adware. Guaranteed.

Usage
When it comes to downloading programs such as games, images, documents, videos, MP3’s and other audio files you need to look no farther than LimeWare. The creators of this software have given us a unique way to get what we want or need in one P2P or Peer-to-Peer program. It uses a Java Platform to run, and Gnutella a file sharing network to scan your computer for downloadable files. You can find files shared through LimeWire in the Digital Audio Access Protocol, which is designed to keep track of media shared across the Network.

Cons

There are a few cons to LimeWare, such as if you want even faster downloads you need to purchase LimeWire Pro. You will also get a few warnings about there being a virus or Trojan, however you this warning is displayed on your screen before your download will begin. However, the free version will tell you before you begin the download.
You may also see someone downloading files from your pc.
When it comes to this do not worry though, it is very common with P2P programs. You can see what they are downloading and stop it if you want to.

Pros

The pros to LimeWire are as vast as its resources. You can download and try out programs that would normally cost you a lot of money. You can also download an entire CD, and burn it to disk. Some of the other Peer-to-Peer programs do not have this feature even though they advertise it. During the startup of the program, it has a Tips and Tricks screen that popup. These help you use LimeWire even more efficiently. A huge pro is the download time and availability of finding and installing LimeWire itself. You do not have to be a computer expert just an internet surfer.

It is designed to run on Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and RPM or Red Hat Package Manager, unfortunately the Mac OS 9 was dropped when LimeWire 4.0 came out in 2004. You will also find the programs requiring a product will have one somewhere in the download itself.

Summary and Rating

If you are one of those who find that the basic and free version no longer suit your needs, you can upgrade to LimeWire Pro for 19.95 United States Dollars or 9.65 Pounds. LimeWire originally produced as LimeShop and was once considered to be spy ware, however since it came out in 2004 that has no longer been an issue.

When it comes to summarizing this program, the list is endless. I cannot give enough praise to this program. My family and I are always looking for fun things to do and LimeWire gives us this, with just a little bit of our time.
My overall rating has to be a resounding 8 out of 10. We hosts limewire free download for you on our file servers.

This review is for people who are thinking about upgrading to Limewire Pro. Every time I try to download something even if i write "baseball" or "superman" or anything yes ANYTHING in the search bar, it gives not even one hit. You are better off with the free version!!! Also they don't tell you that you can never get a refund ever even one hour after you upgrade to Pro. I complained and they did not change the situation at all. I still get no hits (no return answers for downloading) no matter if I specify audio or video or all files.....ZERO returns nada nothing.

Limewire slowed my computer down horribly!!! Downloads generally took forever and after a while so did everything else on my computer. When I eventually tried to uninstall, it was impossible as the program had attached itself to HUNDREDS of other files in my computer. I ended up having to completely restore my PC to get it off. I am not happy about ANY part of my experience!!

Paid for the Limewire Pro. It won't even open on my computer. I repeatedly downloaded the regular version and the pro and neither one opens. I wrote to them several times and they just send back an automated letter that they received the e-mail. They kept my money, but I cannot even open the program and they will not respond to me at all
