The techniques it uses make improved compression to 10% and even 30% if you use 7z over zip format. If you enjoy line command, then you're lucky, because 7-Zip offers powerful commands. There is no license to it, as it is an open source program, so even if you're a company, you won't have to pay a cent. Your language is also supported (localization for 74 languages). 7-Zip works very well in Windows 7 / Vista / XP / 2008 / 2003 / 2000 / NT / ME / 98.
