aSpy is a program that allow parents or system administrators to monitor usage on a computer. It does well at keystroke logging, although the path given to the program the keys were logged in can be misleading (typing in Firefox, for example, gave the path as c:\documents and settings\username). The screen shots are good quality, and the user has a choice of the screenshots being taken of the entire screen or just the active window. Report headings are in "variable" format - presumably so the user can use a different language file - but it's rather annoying to see &Applications instead of Applications. The help file could use a bit of language tuning, as it looks like it was translated to English from another language. In the settings, setting it to send a report via the default SMTP server (apparently installed with the program) does not work on this machine. Clicking "test send email" gives a progress bar that does nothing, gives no error, and no email is received. All in all, though, the program seems to do what it is supposed to. aSpy is well on its way - with a bit of bug fixing, language tweaks and perhaps a few more features (how about click logging as well?) this would be worth the purchase price.
